Matomo says its data is unsampled, which is useful for teams that want analytics without sampling, while raw data is retained for 24 months and report data indefinitely.

Hosting is a consequential choice. Cloud data is stored in Frankfurt, Germany; self-hosted on-premise software is free forever. Matomo says both options provide full data ownership. The platform supports GDPR compliance, cookieless tracking and anonymisation, and is certified to ISO 27001:2022.

Look elsewhere if those caps or tiered support do not fit your needs.
