Xiaomi plans to unveil its global Xiaomi 13 line-up during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023. The company intends to conduct its keynote a day before the event, where it will reveal three models – Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro, and Xiaomi 13 Lite. However, the Xiaomi 13 Lite stands out from the rest as it is not an original phone. The official launch of the Xiaomi 13 Lite is scheduled for February 26, Sunday, at 4 PM GMT+1. The event will be streamed live on various platforms, including YouTube.
Interestingly, the Xiaomi 13 Lite is a rebranded version of the Xiaomi Civi 2, which was introduced in China in September. As a result, the features and pricing have already been leaked. For instance, we know the Xiaomi 13 Lite will boast a 6.55-inch 10-bit curved AMOLED display having a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and up to 120 Hz refresh rate. A unique aspect of the phone is that it will have a dynamic island cut-out at the top center of the screen similar to what we have seen on the iPhone 14 Pro.
Under the hood, the phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset paired with LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 2.2 storage, and a liquid cooling system. The device will come equipped with a 4,500mAh battery and support for 67W fast wired charging. In terms of camera, the smartphone will feature a triple camera setup on the back, including a 50 MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor, a 20 MP ultra-wide angle unit, and a 2 MP macro snapper. The front will have two 32 MP shooters, one with a wide and the other with an ultra-wide lens. Other notable features of the phone include dual stereo speakers, an in-screen optical fingerprint sensor, and an IR blaster.
The Xiaomi 13 Lite is anticipated to come in 128 GB and 256 GB storage variants in Europe, with pricing set at €499 and €549, respectively. The phone will be available in Black, Blue, and Pink color options.
