Yes, you can use Suno songs commercially when they were created under a qualifying paid plan, but Suno’s commercial-use permission does not guarantee that every part of a song is copyrightable or cleared for every use. Suno lists commercial-use rights for Pro and Premier; its Free plan does not include them. If you create on a Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO phone, check the plan attached to the specific song and Suno’s current terms before using it in a monetized video, advertisement, client project, or release.
What Suno’s Commercial-Use Permission Covers
Suno’s plan information distinguishes between permission to use generated music commercially and access to creation features. Pro and Premier list commercial-use rights, while Free does not. The supplied plan information does not establish every restriction, exception, or what happens to a song if you change or cancel plans. Review Suno’s current terms for those details before relying on a track for a business or release.

Commercial permission is not the same as exclusive ownership, guaranteed copyright protection, or clearance of material you supplied. The U.S. Copyright Office says entirely AI-generated works are not copyrightable in the United States; prompts alone do not make someone the author. In a mixed work, only the human-authored parts may be protected. If registering a work containing more than a minimal amount of AI-generated material, applicants must disclose it and describe the human contribution. U.S. Copyright Office guidance
Choose The Right Plan Before Creating
| Plan | Commercial-use status | Relevant stated limits |
|---|---|---|
| Free | No commercial rights | 50 credits per day; no monthly song downloads; no stem separation |
| Pro | Commercial use rights listed | $8 per month; 2,500 credits per month; 20 song downloads per month |
| Premier | Commercial use rights listed | $24 per month; 10,000 credits per month; 60 song downloads per month |
The prices above are the monthly prices displayed in Suno’s plan information; taxes are calculated at checkout. If you made a track on Free, do not assume upgrading later gives that earlier track commercial permission. The supplied information does not settle retroactive coverage: check Suno’s current terms or ask Suno about that exact track before publishing it commercially.

Check Your Track Before Publishing From Your Phone
Suno is available on web, iOS, and Android. On a Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO phone, use the app or browser workflow that shows the relevant creation and account details; the supplied information does not specify where each plan or song’s rights history appears, so verify it in Suno rather than assuming the app view is complete.
- Identify the account and plan used when the song was generated. Confirm it was Pro or Premier at the relevant time.
- Keep the song’s creation details and a record of the plan terms that applied. The available information does not say which evidence Suno provides or how long plan-based rights last.
- Review your prompt, lyrics, uploads, and any reference audio for material you do not have permission to use. A paid plan does not establish permission for third-party material.
- Before release, check the destination’s current rules for AI disclosure, voice impersonation, and monetization. A Suno permission does not require another service to accept or monetize a particular upload.
Voices, Covers, And Uploaded Audio Need Extra Care
Suno lists voice recording and upload features on paid plans, but feature access is not proof that you have rights to another person’s voice or to music you upload. Use your own voice or obtain consent and the necessary permissions for other people’s voices, lyrics, recordings, and reference audio. Check Suno’s terms for the relevant feature, and get consent before making a voice imitation or cover that could be understood as a real person’s performance.

These are Spotify’s platform rules and disclosures, not a grant of rights from Suno. Spotify AI music policy announcement coverage
Prompts And Workflow For A Commercial Track
For a phone-made background track, be specific about the intended use and musical character without asking Suno to copy a named artist or recreate a recognizable recording. For example: “Create an original, instrumental 20-second upbeat electronic bed for a smartphone unboxing video, with a bright synth melody, steady percussion, and a clean ending.” This is a prompt example, not a guarantee of a particular duration, style result, or legal clearance.

If a result needs revision, Suno lists editing, remixing, extensions, section replacement, and stem export among its capabilities, though Free lacks stem separation and Pro has a stated 20-song monthly download limit. Keep the creative changes you make if you may later need to describe your human contribution. The Copyright Office says prompts by themselves are not authorship; it does not establish that a particular edit or arrangement qualifies for protection.

Platform acceptance and monetization are separate from Suno’s plan permission. YouTube’s inauthentic-content policy targets mass-produced, repetitive, or template-based uploads; it does not treat AI use alone as the issue. YouTube also requires disclosure for realistic altered or synthetic content that could be mistaken for a real person’s performance. For a commercial release, the practical standard is to confirm the song’s plan eligibility, clear everything you contributed or uploaded, get consent for identifiable voices, and follow the destination’s current disclosure and monetization rules. Where a needed Suno term or track-specific right is not clear, check Suno’s terms or ask Suno before relying on it.
