What Snipaste is

Snipaste is a screen snipping tool for Windows, macOS, and Linux that can pin screenshots and other content as floating windows. It can turn clipboard images, plain text, HTML text, and color information into those windows. Snipping features include automatic interface-element detection, pixel-level control, color picking, history playback, multi-screen support, and HiDPI support. Annotate images with shapes, arrows, pencil or marker strokes, text, mosaic, or Gaussian blur; edits can be undone or redone. Floating windows can be zoomed, rotated, flipped, made translucent, set to click-through, and grouped. They can also be backed up and restored automatically. OCR is supported, and exports include PNG, JPG, BMP, TGA, ICO, TIFF, GIF, and WebP. Personal use is always free. Snipaste 1.x is free for business use, but business or commercial use of 2.x requires a Pro license. Update checks transmit app and system details as non-personal telemetry.
