What Air Live Drive is

Air Live Drive mounts cloud storage as drives on Windows and macOS, so you can work with cloud files through Explorer or Finder without synchronizing entire folders to your computer. It connects to personal, business and infrastructure services such as Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, iCloud, SharePoint Online, S3, FTP, FTPS, SFTP and WebDAV. You can open files in desktop applications such as Word, Excel or Photoshop and save changes back to the cloud. Optional local caching can speed repeated access, and supported audio or video may play directly from the cloud, depending on the provider. On Windows, background uploads can run with progress shown in a transfer list. The free Basic plan allows one drive per cloud provider and up to three drives total. The 1 Year plan costs $17 a year, and Pro Lifetime costs 25.00 USD once; both licenses are per device. Pro adds unlimited drives, password controls and drive export or import.

Good

  • Opens cloud files through Explorer or Finder
  • Connects to personal, business and infrastructure providers
  • Optional caching can speed repeated file access
  • Windows background uploads show transfer progress
  • Supports command-line drive operations on Windows Pro

Watch out

  • Free Basic is limited to three drives overall
  • Free Basic allows one drive per cloud provider
  • Folder and scheduled synchronization are not supported
  • Personalized or one-to-one support is not provided

Who it suits

Air Live Drive suits people who want to access files from several cloud storage providers through their computer’s file manager without keeping full synchronized copies. It is also relevant to Windows users who want background uploads or command-line drive controls.

Verdict

Air Live Drive is a drive-mounting option for working with files across supported cloud services without full folder synchronization. Its free plan has strict drive limits, while paid plans add unlimited drives and extra controls.
