Here finally is the information that many might have been waiting for with bated breath. Xiaomi has announced when its latest flagship phone is set to launch on It is going to be on February 26, 9:30 PM IST. The event is going to be live streamed on the company’s official Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter channels. The same will also be shown on the company’s website too.
However, the company has stated it is the top-end Xiaomi 13 Pro that would be launched on the given date. That means, the base variant, that is the Xiaomi 13 won’t likely be made available in India. That again shouldn’t be surprising given that the company had followed a similar practice with last year’s flagship as well as it was only the Xiaomi 12 Pro that was introduced in India while the Xiaomi 12 gave a miss.
For those who’d like to have some background info on this, the Xiaomi 13 as well as the Xiaomi 13 Pro was first launched in China in December last. The company then had only stated they would launch the flagship phones in other parts of the world including in India. However, it is only now that the company has come clean with its actual launch plans in India while it isn’t yet known when the phone will be seen elsewhere in the world. That however is expected to happen soon after the launch in India. The Mobile World Congress kicks off just a day later and the company might have some announcements to make at the event regarding the phone’s global availability.
As for the phone itself, the Xiaomi 13 Pro comes with some impressive specs that match its flagship status. At the top lies a 7.73-inch Samsung E6 AMOLED LTPO display having 2K resolution and 1900 nits of peak brightness. The display is compatible with Dolby Vision tech and comes with a 120Hz refresh rate. Underneath it lies a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and Adreno GPU that is coupled to up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of ROM on the top model.
The highlight of the rear includes a triple 50 MP camera arrangement comprising of lenses from Leica. The setup comprises of a 50 MP primary sensor, a 50 MP ultra wide-angle sensor, and a 50 MP telephoto sensor. The front gets a 32 MP shooter for selfies and video calls. Power comes from a 4,820 mAh battery that is backed by a 120W fast charger in wired mode and 50W in wireless mode. The phone runs MIUI 14 based on Android 13.
