Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro get BIS and NBTC certifications, global launch imminent

Xiaomi 13 pro 1

Xiaomi had launched its latest flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 13 and the Xiaomi 13 Pro in December last year. However, the phone has largely been confined to the Chinese market so far. The company though had promised the high-end phones would be made available on the global stage soon and that is exactly what things seem to be headed to right now.

According to the latest that we have on this, the global versions of Xiaomi 13 have either received the necessary certifications from the concerned authorities of various countries or are in the process of receiving one. For instance, the phone has recently been spotted in a Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) listing pointing to its imminent launch in India. The phone is identified by the model number 2210132G in the BIS listing.

Similarly, the phone has also been found listed on the NBTC site which happens to be the sole agency for certifying any gadget before it is allowed to go on sale in Thailand. In the NBTC database, the Xiaomi 13 smartphone is identified by the model number 2211133G. A careful analysis of the two model numbers reveals ‘G’ as the common element in both, which stands for ‘global’ and indicates the global version of the phone.

However, it remains to be seen if the Xiaomi 13 model slated for a global launch carries the exact same specs as the one that is sold in China or if there are some changes introduced to it. While we have got to wait for some time on that, here is a recap on the Xiaomi 13 specs. On the top lies a 6.36-inch OLED panel having a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The display also has a refresh rate of 120 Hz. At its core, the Xiaomi 13 sports a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC that is coupled to either 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM. Storage options with the phone include 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB.

At the rear lies a triple camera system comprising of a 50 MP primary sensor with OIS support, a 12 MP ultra wide-angle sensor, and a 10 MP telephoto lens having 3.2X zoom. The front gets a 32 MP shooter for selfies and video calls. Power comes from a 4.500 mAh battery backed by 67W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. The phone also allows for 10W reverse wireless charging.

With the Xiaomi 13 Pro, you have a slightly larger 6.73-inch OLED panel having 1440 x 3200 pixels. Much of everything else remains the same though there is going to be a more elaborate camera system comprising of a 50.3 MP primary sensor with OIS support, a 50 MP ultra wide-angle sensor with autofocus, and another 50 MP telephoto sensor having 3.2X optical zoom. Powering the phone is a 4,820 mAh battery with 120W wired charging.
