Redmi is gearing up to launch the successor to last year’s Redmi Pad, known as the Redmi Pad 2. Recent appearances of the Pad 2 on the FCC listing and Geekbench have shed light on its key specifications.
According to the Geekbench listing under model number 23073RPBFC, the Redmi Pad 2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 680 4G chipset, featuring a motherboard codenamed “Bengal.” This chipset boasts four high-performance cores clocked at 2.40 GHz and four efficiency cores clocked at 1.90 GHz.
The processor will be accompanied by an Adreno 610 GPU. In comparison to its predecessor, the Redmi Pad 2 represents a slight downgrade in terms of processing power, as it replaces the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset with a slightly less powerful CPU and GPU configuration.
An earlier FCC listing revealed that the Pad 2 will support Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and Bluetooth BLE. It is expected to run on the MIUI 14 for Pad, which is based on Android 13. The tablet is anticipated to be available in three memory variants: 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage, 4 GB RAM with 128 GB storage, and 6 GB RAM with 128 GB storage.
Additionally, rumors suggest that the Pad 2 will feature a 10.95-inch 2K IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels. It is also speculated to sport an 8 MP rear camera, a 5 MP front camera, and house a robust 8000mAh battery. As we approach the official launch, more details about the Redmi Pad 2 are expected to surface in the coming weeks.
