Budget smartphone buyers will likely have a new option soon in the form of the Redmi 12C. The device has already been seen in an unboxing video and was recently certified on the EEC database. It has now appeared on TRDA and BIS certification websites, indicating an impending launch in India and the UAE.

The BIS listing displays the device’s model number as 22120RN86I, while the TRDA listing for the global version has it as 22120RN86G. However, neither listing provides information about the device’s specifications. That said, rumors suggest the Redmi 12C will have a 6.71-inch IPS LCD display with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1650 pixels. Further, the display is touted to have 500 nits of brightness and a 20.6:9 aspect ratio.

According to leaks, the phone will be available in configurations of 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage, 3 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, and 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage on the top model. It is also rumored to have a 50 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera. For power, there likely is going to be a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support. The phone’s starting price is rumored to be EUR 149, with the top configuration potentially costing up to EUR 199.
