POCO has officially revealed that the highly anticipated POCO M6 Pro 5G smartphone will hit the Indian market on August 5. Following the brand’s teaser yesterday, the device is generating significant buzz as it promises to be a noteworthy successor to last year’s M4 Pro 5G, filling the void left by the absence of a pro variant for the M5. As the launch date approaches, the POCO M6 Pro 5G has also been spotted on the popular Geekbench benchmarking platform.

The POCO M6 Pro 5G made an appearance on Geekbench under the motherboard codename ‘sky.’ It is equipped with a powerful configuration, featuring six cores clocked at 1.96GHz and two cores running at 2.21GHz, presumably powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset. The benchmark listing reveals 6 GB of RAM onboard and the device comes with Android 13 OS out of the box. Impressively, the smartphone scored 922 points in the single-core test and 2,110 points in the multi-core test. Rumors are circulating that the POCO M6 Pro 5G might be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 12R, previously launched in China.

Set to be unveiled at 12 noon local time on August 5, the POCO M6 Pro 5G has already secured its spot on the c-commerce platform Flipkart, with a dedicated microsite confirming its availability. POCO is promoting the device as a 5G disrupter, raising expectations for its impact on the market. The teaser image offers a glimpse of the POCO M6 Pro 5G, showcasing an elegant Turquoise color option.

The device boasts an elongated Black camera module on the left, housing two sensors, and an LED flash, while the right side features the POCO branding, creating an eye-catching dual-tone design. The right side also houses the power and volume rocker buttons, while the SIM slot is conveniently located on the left. However, apart from these details, the teasers have been discreet about additional specifications.

As the countdown begins for the POCO M6 Pro 5G’s official debut in India, tech enthusiasts and smartphone aficionados eagerly await the device’s launch, anticipating it to deliver an exceptional 5G experience and cater to a wide range of user needs. With its arrival on the horizon, POCO fans are eager to witness the brand’s latest offering that could potentially disrupt the 5G smartphone market.
