Poco C55 confirmed to launch in India soon

Poco has recently launched the Poco X5 and Poco X5 Pro smartphones in India along with a few other global markets. Now it has officially announced that it will soon be launching an affordable C series smartphone in India called the Poco C55. This comes on top of yet another phone – the Poco X5 GT that the company might be working to launch sometime soon. While we await that, the C55 meanwhile is expected to be just a rebranded Redmi 12C smartphone. The Redmi 12C was released in China on New Year’s Eve. However, while Poco took to Twitter to confirm the upcoming launch of the C55 in India, the exact date was not specified., Details regarding the specifications and design of the smartphone were not revealed in the tweet either.

That said, here is all that we know about the Poco C55. The phone, likely succeeding the Poco C50 is rumored to be an upcoming budget smartphone offering from Poco. The device is expected to offer decent specs and design and could be priced under Rs. 10,000 in India. The phone is expected to have a 6.71-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution. Making up the core of the phone is a MediaTek Helio G85 processor with up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage on the top model. The phone is rumored to have a 50 MP main camera on the rear and a 5 MP front shooter. The device may come with a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 10W charging.

Meanwhile, leaked images shared by tipster Yogesh Brar reveal that the back of the phone will have a leather finish with Poco’s signature camera bar. The device is shown in a shade of forest green and features a dual-camera setup as well as a fingerprint sensor on the back.
