New Redmi Note 12 5G 8 GB + 256 GB variant now on sale in India

At the beginning of the year, Redmi introduced the Redmi Note 12 5G, along with the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G in India. The Note 12 has been available in the country in 4 GB and 6 GB RAM options since its launch. However, the company has now introduced the 8 GB RAM version of the device in India, and is already available to buy as well.

Redmi announced the Redmi Note 12 (4G) and Redmi 12C for the Indian market on March 30, along with the introduction of the 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage version of the Redmi Note 12 5G. Although the new variant was expected to be available for purchase on April 6, the first sales were only carried out for the Redmi Note 12 (4G) and Redmi 12C and the 8GB+256GB variant of the Note 12 5G was not made available.

The new  8 GB + 256 GB version of the Redmi Note 12 5G is available in Matte Black, Mystique Blue, and Frosted Green color options. Currently, the 4 GB + 128 GB and 6 GB + 128 GB models of the smartphone are priced at Rs 17,999 and Rs 19,999, respectively.

As of today, the 8 GB + 256 GB version of the Note 12 5G is finally available for purchase in India, priced at Rs 21,999. However, with an ICICI Bank discount of Rs 1,500, the phone can be obtained for Rs 20,499. In addition, existing Xiaomi users can take advantage of some extra benefits if they purchase the new variant.

Coming to its specs, the Note 12 5G boasts a range of an impressive set of features, which includes a 6.67-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset, LPDDR4x RAM, and UFS 2.2 storage. It operates on the MIUI 13 which is based on the Android 12 operating system. It comes equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W charging. The smartphone also has a 13 MP front camera and a triple camera system on the back that comprises a 48 MP primary sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2 MP macro shooter.

The phone can be purchased through Amazon India, Mi.com, Mi Store app, and offline stores.
