What Sematext Synthetics is
Sematext Synthetics is a paid monitoring service for APIs, web URLs, websites and user journeys from locations around the globe. HTTP monitors record response data and timings while checking response codes, headers, content and timing conditions. Browser monitors run Playwright scripts in headless Google Chrome to simulate website actions. The service checks SSL validity and expiry, and HTTP monitors detect certificate changes. Alerts can connect to Slack, OpsGenie, Zapier and VictorOps. A Vercel integration can create Browser monitors for selected projects. Credentials may be stored in AWS Secrets Manager and inserted during execution. Private-location agents run as Docker containers on Linux or Windows machines. One HTTP run has 128 MB of memory and trims response bodies to 2 MB. Pay-As-You-Go costs $2 a month per HTTP monitor, $7 per Browser monitor, with a $5 monthly minimum and 30 days retention. A 14-day trial is available.
