What FeatherShot is

FeatherShot is a screenshot annotation tool for capturing a screen region, marking it up, then saving or copying the result. Its tools include arrows, numbered steps, rectangles, circles and ellipses, lines, question and lettered callouts, and a magnifier with adjustable zoom from 1.5× to 5×. Users can choose annotation colors and set line width from 2px to 15px. Save & Copy creates a timestamped PNG in ~/Downloads and copies it to the clipboard. The browser extension supports Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Arc; it captures the current tab and opens the chosen area in an editor in a new tab. Numbered annotations are presented as useful for step-by-step guides and tutorials. Listed requirements are macOS 14 or later, Windows 10 or later, and Ubuntu 22.04+, Debian, or Fedora for Linux. The macOS app needs Screen Recording permission and may request Accessibility permission. Windows and Linux need no special permissions; the extension requests Active Tab and Downloads permissions. FeatherShot is free and open source under the MIT License, with no subscription.
