Xiaomi Smart Speaker with IR Controls and Google Assistant launched in India for Rs. 4,999

Xiaomi has launched a new product in India – the Xiaomi Smart Speaker (IR Control). Priced at Rs. 4,999, the Xiaomi Smart Speaker is designed to respond to voice commands via Google Assistant. The Smart Speaker also comes with an IT blaster which enables it to be set up for controlling other smart devices at home.

The Xiaomi Smart Speaker otherwise features a 1.5-inch full-range speaker and microphones. The speaker is designed to activate voice commands far-field for enhanced reception quality. The speaker IR control comes integrated with Chromecast functionality, which means it can be used to cast audio content to other compatible speakers. Apart from Chromecast, the Smart Speaker is also Bluetooth 5.0 compatible as well which provides for another connectivity option.

The speaker also comes with four buttons on the top which allow for increasing or decreasing volume or controlling music and microphone. There is also a digital clock on the side showing the current time. The IR blaster will let users control other smart gadgets at home through the Xiaomi Home or the Mi Home app that you have on your smartphone. It can also be coupled to a stereo speaker for an enhanced audio experience.

The Xiaomi Smart Speaker weighs 628 grams and connects to a 12V/1A DC input power source. As already stated, the Smart Speaker is now available in India for Rs. 4,999 via Flipkart, Mi Home Store along with other online and offline retail locations in the country. The speaker is currently available only in a shade of black.
