Xiaomi is known to be putting finishing touches to its latest tablet offering, the Xiaomi Pad series which is believed to include two models – the Xiaomi Pad 6 and the more up-market Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro. Industry sources indicate the base Xiaomi Pad 6 is identified by the code name Pipa while the Pro version is code named Liuqin. The upcoming Xiaomi Pad 6 series would be succeeding the Xiaomi Pad 5 which had gone for some critical acclaim. The company sure would like to replicate or even exceed the success the Xiaomi Pad 5 has met with.
Now, noted tipster Mukul Sharma has revealed that both the Pad 6 and the Pad 6 Pro are being subjected to some rigorous internal testing procedures at the company’s facilities in Europe and Eurasian regions. The tipster also stated the new Pad 6 series is slated for launch around Q2, 2023, and will see a launch in several countries in Europe and Asia at least. This is quite contrary to earlier reports which claimed the two Xiaomi tablets would be confined to the Chinese market only.
Coming to the likely specs, the tipster claimed the Xiaomi Pad 6 would come powered by the Snapdragon 8-series chipset. Specifically, the Pad 6 will likely come powered by the Snapdragon 870 processor while the Pro model will have the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 under the hood. The tablet will likely come with either 11-inch or 12-inch AMOLED displays having slim bezels on all sides. Previous rumors had claimed the Pro model will come with a display having 2880 x 1880 pixels resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Further, both tablets are expected to come with dual rear cameras along with dual-cell batteries. Other features the tablets are expected to come with include a quad-speaker arrangement, support for NFC, bundled stylus, along with a keyboard case cover. More details are expected in the coming weeks and months. Stay tuned!
