Just a few days back at the Redmi Note 10 series launch, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi had released a new teaser for a Smart TV. Today the brand announced the launch date for the same.
As per the new teaser, the new Redmi Smart TV will be launched in the country on March 17th. We can see ‘The XL Expereince’ written as well which suggests that the TV will probably bigger than 55-inches. Xiaomi has been selling TVs in the country under the ‘Mi TV’ branding. In the Mi TV lineup, there are 55-inch models as well as a 65-inch one.
Redmi already has a couple of TV models available in the China market. The largest model that is available from the brand is 98-inch which is unlikely to be announced here, given the price and logistics. Given the latest Make in India push from the brand, we expect Redmi to models that have assembled in the country to keep the costs in check.
Since Xiaomi already has a presence in the TV, the only valid theory is that the brand is targeting new buyers at even lower price points than the Mi TVs. There is still some time till the launch and we should hear more in-between. Having said that, we expect this new Redmi TV lineup to priced competitively just like Redmi smartphones have been in the past.
