Redmi is gearing up for the much-anticipated launch of the Redmi 12 4G in India on August 1. Alongside this, the company is also expected to unveil the Xiaomi Smart TV X series and the Redmi Watch 3 Active. In a recent leak, tipster Abhishek Yadav has revealed the configurations and prices of both the Redmi 12 5G and Redmi 12 4G variants for the Indian market. However, Redmi is yet to officially confirm if the Redmi 12 5G will be announced on the same date.

According to the leak, the Redmi 12 5G will be available in two options: 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. The leak suggests that the starting price for the 5G variant will be Rs 13,999.

Meanwhile, the Redmi 12 4G will also come in two configurations: 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. It is expected to have a starting price of Rs 9,999. Live shots of what appears to be the Moonlight Silver edition of the Redmi 12 4G have also been leaked.

Rumors have been circulating that the Redmi 12 5G will be a rebranded version of China’s Redmi Note 12R. On the other hand, the specifications for the Redmi 12 4G are already known, as it has already been launched in some markets, such as Thailand. Both smartphones will boast a 6.79-inch IPS LCD 90Hz display with FHD+ resolution and a 20.5:9 aspect ratio. Additionally, they will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging support.

The Redmi 12 5G will be equipped with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip and a dual-camera system featuring a 50 MP main lens and a 2 MP secondary lens, along with a 5 MP front camera. In contrast, the Redmi 12 will be powered by the Helio G88 chip and will sport a triple-camera system, including a 50 MP main lens, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2 MP macro lens. Both devices are expected to run on Android 13 OS with the MIUI 14 user interface on top.

With the leak revealing the configurations and prices of both the Redmi 12 5G and Redmi 12 4G variants, fans are eagerly awaiting the official launch on August 1 to see how these smartphones stack up against the competition.
