After weeks of back and forth between the leaks and speculations, POCO India finally announced that they will indeed bring the F3 GT to India. The phone is essentially a rebranded Redmi K40 Gaming Edition that was launched a few weeks back in China.
POCO India head Anuj Sharma in a new teaser video confirmed this development on the brand’s Social Media channels. The video shows that the phone will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. We also get the mention of Q3 2021 at the very end. This will be the second POCO F series product to be launched in the country after the POCO F1 which laid down the foundations of this brand.
This announcement comes at a time when the country is in lockdown due to the pandemic and POCO’s biggest competitor Realme is bringing their latest smartphone powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 to India next week. Thanks to the numerous leaks, we by now have a sense of what to expect from the POCO F3 GT.
The Redmi K40 Gaming Editio which the F3 GT is based packs a rather large 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the Dimensity 1200 5G SoC and has a triple rear camera module with a 64MP main sensor. The phone also gets pop-out gaming triggers that are quite a hit among gaming phone buyers these days. We expect the POCO F3 GT to be announced sometime in July of this year.
