The Poco C55 is now available in India. After unveiling the Poco X5 Pro smartphone in the Rs 30,000 price range, the company has introduced a more economical option for consumers with a budget of less than Rs 10,000. With a conventional design that closely resembles some of the older Poco phones, here is a comprehensive guide to the latest model.
As per information provided by Flipkart, the Poco C55 is a 4G smartphone with an effective price of Rs 8,499. The official cost of the phone is Rs 9,499 for the model with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of storage while the model with 6 GB of memory and 128 GB of storage will set one back Rs 10,999. The budget-friendly device will be available for purchase on February 28th. Initially, customers can take advantage of a flat discount of Rs 500 on the device, and an additional Rs 500 off is available for payments made via a bank card.
In terms of specifications, the Poco C55 is equipped with a 6.71-inch IPS LCD display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and HD+ resolution. The phone boasts a scratch-resistant screen with Oleophobic coating. Moreover, the device also comes with IP52 rating which makes it resistant to water splashes. One unique feature of the new Poco phone is its leather-like stitch finish at the back, which is not commonly found in the Rs 10,000 price range.
The Poco C55 is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC under the hood, which has powered some budget phones in the past and offers decent levels of performance. The device comes with up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of storage, with the option to expand the internal storage using a dedicated microSD card. Unfortunately, the phone runs on the Android 12 operating system with the MIUI 13 skin on top.
On the back, there is a dual-camera setup with a 50 MP primary sensor. The phone has support for various camera features, such as Portrait mode, Night mode, Time lapse, HDR mode, and more. The front-facing camera has a 5 MP resolution
The Poco C55 packs a 5,000mAh battery, and the company has provided support for 10W charging tech, which is not surprising given that this is a budget device. The phone also features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. The phone comes in attractive shades of Forest Green, Cool Blue, and Power Black.
