Xiaomi is all set to announce the Mi TV Webcam in India tomorrow. This will be an accessory for smart TVs to enable them with full-HD video calls. This is something we have been lately seeing by a number of other Smart TV manufactures.

Just recently, OnePlus too had brought a Webcam for their Smart TVs. Mi TV Webcam will have 3D noise reduction and far-field microphones and a privacy shutter. The requirement for webcams has surged since last year as the pandemic hit and businesses were forced to operate from homes.

Xiaomi has put up a teaser page which lists all the main features of this webcam. From the looks of it, this webcam is similar to the OnePlus TV webcam with the branding changed on the privacy shutter. The Webcam will have a magnetic clip for easy mounting and will most probably be compatible with the newer Mi TV models along with Redmi TVs.

Along with a manual privacy shutter, we will also a power LED next to the camera module which will let the user know when the camera is in use. The Mi TV webcam will have a Type-C port on the back to power it up and a Type C to Type A USB cable will be supplied in the package. Given how similar this Mi TV Webcam is to the OnePlus TV Webcam, we hope Xiaomi will price it under INR 2,500.
