How to Install MIUI 12 Super Wallpapers on Older Xiaomi Phones

MIUI 12 brought so many cool additions for the MIUI users and the most happening feature was the Super Wallpaper. They became an instant hit to the point that developers jumped on to port these wallpapers into standalone apps. Those standalone apps could then be installed on older Xiaomi/Redmi or POCO phones and even non MIUI smartphones.

Xiaomi made four Super Wallpapers available in the global build of MIUI 12 and MIUI 12.5 while the China MIUI 12 build has six super wallpapers in total. These super wallpapers are not just standard live wallpapers but they have a lot of animation to them. They start off on the lock screen and give you a zooming-in effect when to unlock your phone. On Xiaomi or Redmi devices that support Always-on-display (AOD), these wallpapers have an AOD animation as well.

While on the ported builds of these wallpapers, you don’t get to try out the AOD feature but you do get the rest of the animations. There are Earth and Mars wallpapers with topography and there is another one with circles. In this guide, we will take you through the steps of getting these MIUI 12 Super Wallpapers onto your older Xiaomi smartphones that do not have these wallpapers available natively.

This guide is also helpful for users who did receive the MIUI 12 update on their Xiaomi or Redmi phones but the wallpapers were not supplied in the package. Xiaomi has been doing this with some budget smartphones that do not have the processing power to make these wallpapers work.
