Talend Cloud Data Preparation is a self-service application for preparing data for analysis and other data-driven work.
What Talend Cloud Data Preparation is
Talend Cloud Data Preparation is a self-service application for preparing data for analysis and other data-driven work. It supports integration and cataloging, discovery and profiling, cleansing and shaping, enrichment, and operationalizing preparations. A preparation applies a saved recipe to a dataset, while recipe functions leave the original dataset unchanged. Discovery tools include auto-profiling, standardization, smart suggestions, visualization, and customizable semantic types; data masking is also listed. Connectors include Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, Salesforce, and NetSuite. Prepared data can go to a new or existing dataset, a source dataset for selected connection types, or a local download. API calls can list preparations, launch runs, monitor them, and retrieve run history. Runs can use the Cloud Engine for Design or Remote Engine Gen2, which documentation says can operate in a customer’s virtual private cloud or on premises. Data Preparation requires Qlik Talend Cloud Premium or Enterprise Edition, with capacity usage measured by data volume moved, job executions, and job duration; pricing is on request. Documentation notes performance issues may occur when updating more than 100,000 new rows in a database dataset, and lists regions where the product is unavailable.
