What TabVault is
TabVault is a Chrome extension for saving and switching between browser workspaces while preserving tabs, tab groups and browsing context. It restores Chrome tab groups with their names, colors and collapsed state, and automatically saves the current tabs when you switch workspaces. You can switch with one click, cycle using Cmd+Shift+., or assign shortcuts 1–9 for direct jumps. Search helps locate saved tabs and workspaces. The Free plan supports up to 10 workspaces, stores data locally in Chrome and requires no account. It includes automatic backups every 30 minutes and export to JSON or Markdown, plus light and dark themes. Pro adds unlimited workspaces, cloud sync across devices and priority support. Pro sync requires an account, with synced data stored on Supabase servers and encrypted at rest and in transit. The maker says it does not collect or access free users' saved workspaces, tabs, visited URLs or personal browsing data. TabVault currently supports Google Chrome; Firefox, Edge and Safari support is described as coming soon.
