NavEd Free Gradebook

Summary

NavEd Free Gradebook is a web-based gradebook for educators tracking one class of up to 10 students. Student averages and letter grades update as scores are entered, with weighted and unweighted calculations available. A spreadsheet-style grid lets users enter assignment names, possible points, and weights, and the gradebook can export a PDF report with grades, averages, and letter grades. Educators can begin without an account; entering an email is optional and provides a magic link for returning to saved work. The tool is described as mobile friendly for phones and tablets, and NavEd positions it for microschools, co-ops, and small schools. The free option is available indefinitely and requires no credit card, but it is restricted to one class and 10 students. NavEd directs users who need more capacity to its full platform. Full plans start at $2.50 per student per month or $99 per year, with the first five students free. NavEd says it uses TLS encryption, separate database schemas per school, and role-based access controls to protect student records.
