Mimecast Secure Messaging
Mimecast Secure Messaging helps organizations protect sensitive information sent by email, including financial records and customer data.
What Mimecast Secure Messaging is
Mimecast Secure Messaging helps organizations protect sensitive information sent by email, including financial records and customer data. Protected messages are delivered through a secure web portal, and Mimecast says the information stays within its cloud. Before sending, users can set read receipts and expiration dates or restrict printing and replies. Messages and attachments are scanned for viruses, checked against data leak prevention policies, and stored in an AES-encrypted archive. Recipients follow instructions to sign in to the portal, retrieve messages, download attachments, and reply securely. Email security gateway policies can initiate the service. Mimecast also says it can protect Office 365 email when TLS is unavailable and trigger encryption based on administrator-defined criteria such as recipient, domain, or subject keywords. Senders and recipients need no additional software downloads or hardware. The service supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. Pricing is available on request. Portal beta access is limited to customers with Mimecast end-user applications, and the portal is included only in service packages that already include those applications.
