What Lightmorphic Text is

Lightmorphic Text is a free, open-source Linux application for managing Espanso text-expansion snippets through a graphical interface. Add snippets by entering a trigger and replacement, then search both trigger and replacement text as you type. Matching options include whole-word behavior and preserving the case typed in the trigger. Advanced snippets, including dates, forms, and scripts, appear as read-only entries. If needed, first-run setup fetches Espanso, the underlying text-expansion engine. The app uses Espanso files in `~/.config/espanso`; before changing one, it saves a dated backup under `~/.local/share/lightmorphic-text/backups`. Import leaves existing files untouched, while export can combine snippets, comments, advanced snippets, and installed packages into one backup file. On Wayland, setup asks once for keyboard-reading permission and says it installs nothing system-wide. Lightmorphic Text is licensed under GPL-3.0-or-later, and its site points users to GitHub for problem reports.
