What La Suite Docs is
La Suite Docs is a free, web-native text editor for creating structured documents and sub-documents with other people in real time. Live cursors, presence indicators, and comments show collaborative activity. Its block editor offers slash commands, tables, columns, collapsible sections, and media. Documents can be restricted to selected users, shared with external guests, or published through public links, with separate viewing, commenting, and editing permissions. Docs imports DOCX and Markdown, and exports DOCX, ODT, PDF, and Markdown. It saves automatically after about a minute of inactivity, while an already-open document can continue editing offline and synchronize later. Optional AI actions include summaries, rewrites, typo correction, translation, and converting notes into slides. Self-hosters can choose an LLM provider and deploy with Docker Compose or Kubernetes. The MIT-licensed project is available on the web or through self-hosting, with unlimited version history and no end-to-end encryption.
