Greater Than Gatsby

Overview

Greater Than Gatsby sells downloadable Lightroom presets, Photoshop actions, overlays, and brushes for portrait, wedding, newborn, and other photographers. It is best for Adobe users who want ready-made editing assets they can adjust, rather than a standalone photo editor; the main trade-off is product-specific compatibility and licensing limits.

Key features

Presets and actions

Photoshop actions are designed to apply edits in a few clicks, and some collections use Adaptive A.I. Technology. That can suit photographers looking to streamline repeat edits, while the Complete Presets Bundle offers a more adjustable route: its 641 Lightroom presets have modifiable sliders. A smaller free sample of 16 Lightroom presets lets photographers assess the style before paying.

Compatibility, downloads, and support

Presets are designed for Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw; actions and overlays target Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. Products work on PC and Mac, but not with Adobe apps purchased through the Apple App Store, and they are tested only with English versions. Some actions require Creative Cloud subscription versions of Photoshop. Future Photoshop and Lightroom compatibility is not guaranteed, so these downloads are a less dependable choice for buyers who need long-term version certainty.

Purchases are delivered by download from the order confirmation page or emailed link, with up to 10 downloads per item before the link expires. Email support is offered 24/7, and the company says it aims to reply within an hour; FAQs and video tutorials are also provided.

Pricing

The freemium model starts with 16 free Lightroom presets and no free trial. Paid products start at 19 one-time. The Complete Presets Bundle costs 249.00 USD per once and includes 641 presets for Lightroom CC and Classic CC, Camera Raw, Mac, and PC; its page price is discounted to $199.20 with code. This is the stronger fit for photographers seeking a broad, customizable preset library, but it is a larger purchase than trying the free set.

The Complete Actions Bundle costs 329.00 USD per once, or a discounted page price of $263.20 with code. It includes 15 Photoshop action collections for Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. It makes sense for Adobe users who specifically want a wide action collection; preset-focused users need not pay for tools aimed at a different workflow. Mobile support is available, but these bundle descriptions center on desktop Adobe applications.

Products are licensed for personal or limited professional use, may be installed only on a computer owned by the purchaser, and cannot be redistributed or resold. Buyers should account for those restrictions before using assets across a team or client-owned machines.

Platforms

The directory lists Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. The named editing integrations are Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, Lightroom CC, Adobe Camera Raw, Photoshop, and Photoshop Elements, with the supported apps depending on the product. The broad platform listing should not be read as a promise that every asset works in every environment.

Who it's for

Greater Than Gatsby suits photographers who edit in Adobe software and want downloadable presets or actions for portrait, wedding, newborn, or other photography. Its free presets are a low-commitment starting point; its large bundles are better suited to buyers who already know they want a substantial collection. It is not a good fit for users needing unrestricted redistribution, installations on computers they do not own, or guaranteed future Adobe compatibility.

Pros and cons

• Pros: The 641-preset bundle has adjustable sliders, giving buyers room to refine looks rather than accept fixed effects.
• Pros: Sixteen free Lightroom presets offer a no-cost way to try the product style before choosing a paid collection.
• Pros: Downloads are accompanied by email support, FAQs, and video tutorials.
• Cons: The Apple App Store Adobe-app exclusion, English-only testing, and Creative Cloud requirements for some actions narrow compatibility.
• Cons: The 10-download limit and computer-ownership restriction make download management and multi-device use important considerations.
• Cons: Future Photoshop and Lightroom compatibility is not guaranteed.

Alternatives

Photo Preset Libraries is a useful category comparison for shoppers weighing preset collections.

• Lightroom Presets by peva3 is worth choosing instead if a free option with 445 XMP presets and an MIT license is more important than Greater Than Gatsby's broader mix of assets.
• VSCO is an alternative for readers seeking a free starter tier or a subscription-based preset offering across web, iOS, and Android.
• Visual Flow may suit buyers looking for a paid preset option associated with photographer Pye Jirsa as designer and co-founder.
• RNI Films is another freemium alternative for photographers considering a different preset collection.
• 123Presets may appeal to shoppers looking for one-time preset packs, with Lightroom files shown at 15.00 USD per pack.
• Signature Edits is an alternative with one-time Lightroom collections, including a Clean & Classic collection at 59.00 USD and an AI Engine toolkit at 79.00 USD.
• Contrastly Lightroom Presets is another paid preset option.
• Presetpro is another paid preset option.

Verdict

Choose Greater Than Gatsby if you edit in Adobe software and want customizable Lightroom presets or a broad library of Photoshop actions, with free presets available to start. Look elsewhere if you need assured future compatibility, broad redistribution rights, or installations on computers you do not own.
