Formula Foundry is a web add-on that provides a formula editor inside Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. Its editor supports multiline writing, syntax highlighting, structured formatting, indentation, autocomplete, find and replace, dark mode and adjustable font size. A visual builder creates formulas step by step with live previews, argument validation, nested groups and drag-and-drop editing. Compatibility mode converts many Excel-specific functions into Google Sheets equivalents and flags formulas that cannot transfer. The AI assistant can generate, explain or debug formulas from natural-language requests using context explicitly supplied for each request. Users can define workbook variables and save, search and reuse snippets; Business adds team snippet sharing. The maker says editing runs in the spreadsheet client without transmitting formulas, cell values or workbook content during editing. The free plan costs nothing, with one tab, one seat, three snippets, three variables and about 20 AI generations monthly. Pro costs $15 a month billed annually; Business costs $24 a month billed annually per seat.
