Most of the brands in today’s time have given up on Android tablets and mostly a handful of OEMs are making them. Xiaomi used to make tablets in the past and owing to poor sales the product line was scrapped two years ago.

Now we know that the brand is making a comeback in the Android Tablet segment and though we don’t actually know under which branding will they be released. Some of Xiaomi’s Execs have pointed out that the next tablet will come under the Mi Mix lineup. A series of alleged renders and specs have been making rounds on Weibo.

According to the leaked info, the upcoming device will be called the Mi Pad 5. It is slated to be a 5G-ready tablet and will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. The Mi Pad 5 might get a 2K LCD panel with a 144Hz refresh rate though we don’t know the exact display size. Other notable specs include a 10,000mAh battery with support for 50W fast charging, a triple rear camera setup.

We might see the tablet made out of aluminum with the display looking exactly like the Apple iPad Pro. The tab is excepted to come in four memory variants with the base variant having 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage up to 16GB RAM and 1TB internal storage. Prices are expected to start at 3,999 yuan and go up to 5,499 yuan for the top-end variant.

These prices and specs seem a bit inflated to us but we should know more on this soon as the tablet is expected to launch in Q2’21.
