It was just last December that the Xiaomi 13 series was first introduced in China before it was launched in global markets in February. Recently, the company unveiled the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, the latest addition to the Xiaomi 13 family. Despite being a relatively new release, an executive from the company has already begun teasing the design of one of the next-generation phones, leaving fans curious about what the upcoming Xiaomi devices will bring to the table.

A curious netizen recently inquired about the potential design of the Xiaomi 14 Pro, asking whether it would resemble that of the Mi 11 Ultra. In response, Wei Xu, the Design Director of Xiaomi’s Industrial Design Department, revealed that they have already finalized the design of the Xiaomi 14 Pro and that it is “more amazing” than that of the Mi 11 Ultra. For reference, the Mi 11 Ultra had a distinctive design feature, incorporating a secondary screen on its back that displayed notifications, weather updates, music playback controls, and other information, which was actually powered by the display of the Mi Band 5.

Following the release of the Mi 10 Ultra, the Mi 11 Ultra became Xiaomi’s second Ultra smartphone and marked the company’s initial foray into camera-focused phones. Similar to the current Xiaomi 12 Pro, the Mi 11 Ultra boasted a ceramic back. At present, no information has been disclosed about the Xiaomi 14 Pro. This is the first time we have heard about the phone from an official of the company. It is anticipated that the phone will be equipped with next-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 series processors and an enhanced camera system. It is expected that the device will be announced in China alongside the standard model in the last quarter of 2023.

With that several months away, there sure is going to be plenty of leaks and speculation coming our way. Stay tuned to keep abreast of the latest developments on this.
