Overview

Arketa is studio-management software for fitness and wellness businesses that need booking, payments, and operational tools in one system. It suits independent operators as well as multi-location businesses; its main trade-off is that the entry plan limits access to one team login and adds transaction fees.

Studios can manage classes, appointments, and events alongside memberships, client records, and attendance. Arketa supports businesses from one location to 100, with memberships, reporting, and apps managed across locations in one account. It says it can migrate clients, packages, and stored payment cards from another platform, and most studios are live within four weeks.

Key features

Bookings and studio operations

Clients can book recurring classes, appointments, and events, with waitlists and guest passes to help fill available spots. Capacity management, instructor scheduling, and attendance tracking give studios tools to coordinate classes and monitor participation. Individual adds a client CRM, memberships, class packages, programs, workshops, events, and an embeddable booking widget. Its one-login limit, however, makes it a poor fit for a team that needs multiple staff accounts.

Payments and marketing

Arketa supports payments and membership billing. U.S. Stripe card processing costs 2.9% plus $0.30; Individual customers also pay Arketa a 3% transaction fee. That additional charge matters for studios processing frequent or high-value bookings. Marketing tools, including email and text campaigns, automated workflows, lead management, and an AI-powered email builder, are part of Studio Growth rather than Individual.

Branded apps and integrations

Studio Suite adds a custom-branded iOS and Android app for clients, Apple TV and Roku display, push notifications, a branded website, and Facebook and Google ad integrations. Arketa also lists connections with Google Calendar, Google Business, Facebook, ClassPass, Wellhub, Kisi, Mailchimp, and Zapier. The branded app is a higher-tier option, not part of the Individual plan.

Support

Arketa offers live chat and weekly onboarding sessions, with dedicated onboarding support for Individual and Studio partners. It says customers can reach a real person by chat or phone at any time of day, with a response in under a minute.

Pricing

Arketa has no free plan.

Plan	Price and terms	What it includes
Individual	49.00 USD per month, billed annually (save 17%); 3% transaction fee plus Stripe fees	One team member login, class/private/event scheduling, CRM, unlimited on-demand library, packages and memberships, programs, workshops and events, booking widget
Studio Core	Custom pricing; request a demo	Unlimited team members, multiple rooms and locations, point of sale, staff management, payroll reporting, dedicated account management
Studio Growth	Custom pricing; request a demo	Studio Core plus campaigns, automated workflows, lead generation and pipeline management, AI email builder, task management, 1:1 text messaging
Studio Suite	Custom pricing; request a demo	Studio Growth plus branded mobile app, Apple TV and Roku display, push notifications, branded website, Facebook and Google ad integrations

Individual is the clear fit for a solo operator who can work within one login and wants core scheduling and membership tools. Studios needing multiple staff accounts, point of sale, or payroll reporting must move to Studio Core. Growth and Suite are for businesses that specifically need marketing automation or branded digital experiences, but their custom pricing makes costs less straightforward to compare.

Platforms

Arketa is available on Android, iOS, and the web. Its branded client app, which supports booking, payment, and class viewing, is a Studio Suite feature.

Who it's for

Arketa is built for yoga, Pilates, gyms, group fitness, recovery, personal training, and massage businesses. Its scheduling and membership tools suit studios centered on recurring classes, while multi-location operators can keep memberships, reporting, and apps in one account. A solo business can start with Individual; a staffed or expanding studio is more likely to need one of the custom-priced Studio plans.

Pros and cons

Pros: Scheduling covers classes, appointments, and events, with capacity tools, waitlists, and guest passes to help manage bookings.
Pros: Individual combines a client CRM, memberships, packages, and an unlimited on-demand library with core scheduling.
Pros: The Studio tiers extend the system to multi-location operations, payroll reporting, marketing, and branded apps.
Cons: Individual allows only one team member login, limiting its usefulness for studios with several staff members.
Cons: Individual adds a 3% Arketa transaction fee on top of Stripe processing fees, increasing payment costs.
Cons: Studio plan pricing is custom, so buyers cannot compare those tiers by a published monthly price.

Alternatives

WellnessLiving is worth considering if a free plan matters: it offers one staff member, class and appointment booking, client and staff apps, and POS for 62.00 USD per month billed annually, as well as a free plan and trial.

Glofox is another option for booking, member management, payment processing, payroll, and reporting, with an Android and iOS offering.

bsport may suit studios seeking a marketing suite and AI-assisted email builder alongside bookings, online payments, and staff management; its plans have custom pricing.

TeamUp is an alternative for operators whose needs align with active-customer pricing: its 101–200 active customer plan is 189.00 USD per month, and it offers a custom branded app plan.

Walla may suit a studio preferring a per-location monthly plan: Core costs 299.00 USD per month per location and includes unlimited users, reporting, and payroll.

Mariana Tek is another paid studio platform, with a Core plan that includes custom-branded mobile apps, a business app, kiosk check-in, waivers, and forms.

Gymdesk is an alternative for a gym with up to 50 members; its listed Gymdesk plan costs 75.00 USD per month billed monthly and includes a 50-member cap.

Pike13 may fit a small studio that wants unlimited staff seats and client profiles; Essential costs 159.00 USD per month on a 12-month contract.

Verdict

Arketa is a strong fit for fitness and wellness studios that want booking, client management, and memberships in one system, with a path to multi-location operations and marketing tools. Individual gives solo operators a substantial starting toolkit, but the one-login cap and extra transaction fee are real constraints. Choose a Studio tier when staff, payroll, marketing automation, or branded apps justify custom pricing; look elsewhere if transparent pricing or lower payment costs are priorities.
