What Veyla Access is
Veyla Access is a gym entry-control service built around face-first access on HID hardware, with fobs, PINs, and barcodes as alternatives. Members receive a text and enroll their face on their own phone in about two minutes without downloading an app. An HID Aero controller stores credentials and door rules and makes decisions locally, so access rules continue during internet outages. Administrators can set per-door schedules, auto-unlock windows, holidays, strike timers, exit and alarm inputs, remote unlock, and site lockdown. PerfectGym integration synchronizes member records and writes door check-ins back; other systems can connect through a documented webhook. Visitor credentials can be expiring keypad PINs or scanner QR codes. The mobile app shows door status and supports remote unlock, visitor codes, emergency entry, and lockdown. Veyla says face data is encrypted and stored in Australia, with opt-in consent and fob or PIN alternatives. The service costs A$99 a month per site, plus hardware and quoted installation.
