What Upptime is
Upptime is a free, open-source uptime monitor and status website service built with GitHub Actions, Issues, and Pages. It checks configured websites as often as every five minutes and can track as many websites as desired. Checks support HTTP endpoints and TCP ports, with optional Globalping checks from selected locations. When an endpoint goes down, Upptime opens a GitHub issue and closes it after recovery; incidents shorter than 15 minutes are deleted by default. Response times are stored in Git history and shown in long-term graphs on a customizable static status page. Notifications can use Slack, Telegram, Discord, Zulip, Microsoft Teams, Gotify, custom webhooks, email, or SMS. Sensitive values can be kept in repository secrets with an explicit allowlist. The default setup uses approximately 3,000 GitHub Actions build minutes monthly; public repository minutes are unlimited, while private minutes are billed by GitHub.
