Authors can format text, design characters, upload photos, and add narration, music, and sound effects. Teachers can make group books by assigning pages for students to contribute, import classes and students from Google Classroom, post assignments, and receive completed books there. Photos can also be added from Dropbox, Google Drive, or another service. In educational accounts, student books are private by default and teachers control sharing. For children under 13 using independent accounts, a parent account is required and manages whether and how the child shares content. Books can be downloaded as PDF eBooks or video books, or ordered as paperbacks and hardcovers. Online creation and sharing are free. Downloads and printed books have one-time prices, with extra-page charges above 16 pages. Compilation books are limited to 200 pages.
