What Simple Church Rota is
Simple Church Rota is a volunteer scheduling system for small and growing churches. It handles weekly rotas and one-off events, with separate categories and volunteer lists for each rota. Administrators assign people by drag and drop, while volunteers can request swaps or cover that administrators approve or decline. A message centre, email invitations, and email notices support communication. Telegram notifications and optional SMS alerts can flag swap requests and urgent cover needs. Assignments can synchronize with Google Calendar or appear through an iCal feed for Apple Calendar, Outlook, and other calendar applications. Rotas include print-ready views and PDF export. The service runs on the web and Android devices. Its 30-day trial includes every feature and unlimited volunteers without a credit card, with email support. The annual subscription costs £35/year and includes unlimited rota types and volunteers without per-user fees. Passwords are securely hashed, and the service says it does not sell user data or share it with advertisers.

Who it suits
It suits small or growing churches coordinating recurring services and occasional events. Churches needing Android, web, calendar synchronization, and volunteer swap communication may find it relevant.
Verdict
Simple Church Rota combines rota creation, volunteer requests, notifications, and calendar connections in one church-focused service. The trial provides full access before an annual subscription, while the lack of a free plan matters for ongoing use.
