What Session Canvas is
Session Canvas is open-source, MIT-licensed software for managing conference submissions, reviews, agendas, speakers, and communications. It is self-hosted on the organizer’s own Supabase project. Its form builder supports reordered questions, required fields, conditional rules, deadlines, and draft submissions. For reviews, organizers can route reviewers by track, provide a passwordless evaluator view, and optionally use blind review. Agendas offer day, room, and list views, with warnings for potential time, room, and speaker conflicts. Speakers can use magic links to check submission status, edit profiles, and complete assigned tasks. Organizers can send templated acceptance and rejection emails, task reminders, and calendar invites that update when event details change. To publish event information, it provides embeddable schedule and speaker widgets, a public JSON schedule feed, and whole-event iCal export. Five public widgets—including an agenda and speaker gallery—can be browsed without logging in. Optional Airtable synchronization mirrors submissions to and from a base and is off by default. A seeded DevFlow Conf 2027 demo is available.
