QQueue is a self-hosted email system that sends campaign, transactional, and manual messages through one SMTP-based pipeline.
What QQueue is
QQueue is a self-hosted email system that sends campaign, transactional, and manual messages through one SMTP-based pipeline. Campaigns support contact lists, dynamic segments, merge fields, A/B subject tests, and per-campaign open and click analytics. Applications can send transactional email through a public HTTP endpoint, organization-scoped API keys, or the TypeScript SDK. Email Studio handles immediate sends, one-time schedules, and recurring cron-based sends with timezone-aware scheduling. QQueue connects to standard SMTP services including Mailcow, Amazon SES, Postmark, Resend, and Brevo; provider-native APIs are not implemented. Tracking includes opens, clicks, signed outbound event webhooks, and an inbound endpoint for bounce and complaint events. SMTP credentials are encrypted at rest, while tracking links and webhook events use signed tokens or signatures. Contacts, content, events, and API keys remain on infrastructure controlled by the operator. QQueue Core is AGPL-3.0-only, free, and described as a feature-complete self-hosted beta.
Good
- Combines campaign and transactional email
- Supports recurring timezone-aware scheduling
- Provides signed tracking webhooks
- Keeps data on operator-controlled infrastructure
- Free AGPL-3.0-only core
Watch out
- Requires paying for server and SMTP
- Provider-native APIs are not implemented
- No automated multi-step drip sequences
- Managed QQueue Cloud is unavailable
Who it suits
It suits developers, small teams, Mailcow operators, self-hosters, SaaS founders, indie hackers, and agencies. It requires your own server and SMTP service.
Verdict
QQueue offers a single, self-hosted pipeline for several email workloads with developer-oriented APIs and tracking. It is most suitable when you control infrastructure and can accept the beta status and missing drip automation.
