Piwigo is open-source photo management software for organizing and sharing photo and video collections.
What Piwigo is
Piwigo is open-source photo management software for organizing and sharing photo and video collections. Albums, sub-albums, tags, metadata, search and permissions help structure a library, which can be public or restricted through roles and groups. Users can extend it with plugins, themes, settings and custom code. It is available as self-hosted software or as Piwigo Cloud, hosted in France on Piwigo’s own infrastructure; the company says customer data is not transferred to the United States. Android and iOS apps support browsing, editing photo details and uploading photos and videos, while both deployment types provide API access. Piwigo describes automatic tag and description generation and OCR text extraction, with its AI hosted on its own infrastructure. The self-hosted plan is free. Cloud Pro is €32 a month, billed annually and excluding VAT, with one administrator, unlimited users, no contributors and 10GB storage. Other plans offer varying storage, format, contributor and support options. A Cloud subscription is limited to one Piwigo.
