What Oxygen XML Author is

Oxygen XML Author is a structured authoring application for XML technologies. It lets users edit XML content and publish one source to PDF, ePUB, HTML, and other formats through preset or configurable scenarios. Ready-to-use editing and publishing support covers DITA, DocBook, XHTML, and TEI. Built-in XML publishing frameworks can be customized, or users can create frameworks of their own. Oxygen connects with common XML databases, content management systems, and WebDAV. Collaboration tools include change tracking, a Subversion client, and compare-and-merge functions. SharePoint integration supports repository browsing, check-in and check-out, and opening, editing, and saving resources. The optional Oxygen AI Positron Assistant plugin provides tools for content creation, readability improvement, and content restructuring. Windows, macOS, and Linux distributions are available; the macOS release runs natively on Intel and Apple silicon. Linux use with bundled Java requires X.org, while Wayland is unsupported. There is no free plan, but a fully functional 30-day trial is available. User-based Professional subscription pricing is $28/month billed annually.
