MODWAI is a desktop application for monitoring, diagnosing and optimizing SQL on Oracle databases. It supports Oracle Database 19c and later, including RAC clusters and Pluggable Databases, on macOS and Windows. More than 150 built-in queries cover sessions, locks, storage, memory and jobs, alongside query profiling, wait and lock analysis, session recording and execution plans. Session recording samples active sessions at intervals from 0.5 to 10 seconds and does not require Oracle Diagnostic Pack licensing. ASH and AWR analysis requires the appropriate license; Statspack is an alternative. Execution-plan analysis can identify common issues and suggest optimizations through MODWAI Proxy, supplied keys for several AI providers, or local Ollama. MODWAI says credentials use Fernet encryption and no telemetry is collected. Thin connections work without an Oracle Client, while Thick mode uses Oracle Instant Client. Results export to CSV, Excel or clipboard, and plans to PNG, JSON or PDF. A seven-day trial is offered.
