MockAPI
MockAPI helps users create REST API endpoints, generate custom data, and interact with it through a RESTful interface.
What MockAPI is
MockAPI helps users create REST API endpoints, generate custom data, and interact with it through a RESTful interface. Each project receives a unique base URL shared by its endpoints. Users can define resource schemas and choose data generators for individual fields, including Faker.js functions such as lorem.sentences and datatype.boolean. Resources can be related to one another, with endpoints generated automatically. Generated resources support GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, and DELETE operations. Listed query features include pagination, sorting, filtering, data generation, and customizable responses; OpenAPI import is also supported. The tool is described for prototyping, testing, and learning, and its quick-start guide covers projects, resources, data generation, code examples, filtering, pagination, and resource relations. The Free plan costs nothing and includes one project with two resources. Paid monthly access costs $5 a month, and paid annual access costs $35 a year; each allows 20 projects and 50 resources. Custom endpoints and webhooks are marked as coming soon.
Good
- Generated resources support five common CRUD operations.
- Field-level data generators include Faker.js functions.
- Supports relations, filtering, sorting, and pagination.
- OpenAPI import is supported.
Watch out
- Free plan allows one project and two resources.
- Custom endpoints are marked as coming soon.
- Webhooks are marked as coming soon.
Who it suits
MockAPI suits developers, learners, and teams who need mock REST endpoints and data for prototyping, testing, or learning. The free plan may fit small projects, while larger limits are available on the paid plans.
Verdict
MockAPI provides project-based REST endpoints, generated data, and common query operations for prototyping and learning. Its free limits are modest, while paid plans raise project and resource allowances; custom endpoints and webhooks are not yet available.
