What Groovie is

Groovie is a free, open-source drum and beat sequencer that runs in a browser. It needs no account or installation, has no ads, and works on desktop computers, tablets, and mobile phones. The app includes more than 150 public-domain CC0 samples, covering drums, percussion, vocals, game sounds, and other sounds. Patterns can contain 1 to 64 steps and up to 16 rows, while a project can hold up to 64 patterns. Each row offers sample, panning, level, and delay-send controls. Groovie also includes tempo-synced delay, a whole-mix filter, swing, and humanize controls, with tempo from 40 to 280 BPM. A shared link stores the project in its URL hash, allowing others to play or remix it without uploading the project. MIDI start, stop, and clock signals can be sent to connected devices. MIDI clock output is limited to Chrome and other Chromium browsers unless Firefox has an add-on. The code uses MIT licensing and the samples use CC0 licensing.
