FModel
FModel is free, open-source Windows software for inspecting and extracting content from games made with Unreal Engine.
What FModel is
FModel is free, open-source Windows software for inspecting and extracting content from games made with Unreal Engine. It can browse game archives, including encrypted ones, and compare two game states to find new or changed files and packages. Encrypted archives require an AES key to be loaded. FModel can parse more than 30 asset types, show their properties, and display package information in formats such as JSON, INI, XML and TXT. Viewers support images, audio and 3D assets, including static and skeletal meshes, maps and sounds. Models can be saved as PSK files for use in programs such as Blender or 3DS Max. An Export Session window supports batch exports of raw data, models, worlds, textures and animations. The August 2026 release added USD export for meshes, animations, materials and worlds, plus WebP export and texture quality settings. Whole-level export is available in USDA format, though sockets or attachments may not always land correctly. FModel is distributed as a portable x64 executable in a ZIP archive and requires .NET 10.0 or later; some games may need up to 2 GB of free RAM.
