Citymapper

What Citymapper is

Citymapper is a mobility app for navigating cities and planning journeys, available on Android and iOS. Its route recommendations weigh speed, affordability, simplicity, physical effort, and disruption risk. Travelers can filter options such as bus-only, train-only, simple, mixed, and step-free routes, though choices vary by city. The app shows bus locations on a map, refreshes them every minute, and provides traffic-based travel and arrival times. Voice instructions cover walking, cycling, scooting, and public transport, including turn guidance and transit alerts. Citymapper can sync with a phone’s system calendar to show upcoming events alongside routes and suggested departure times. Step-free routing is free, and Citymapper says wheelchair-accessible routes are available in 20 regions and counting. The company says its consumer app is available in major cities worldwide. A free plan includes journey planning and app features with ads; Citymapper CLUB is listed at £1.49/mo for an ad-free app. Organizations can also use Citymapper SDKs and APIs to add routing and navigation to other products.
