Cheolsu Proxy
Cheolsu Proxy is a free, open-source HTTP/HTTPS debugging proxy for capturing, examining, and changing network traffic in real time.
What Cheolsu Proxy is
Cheolsu Proxy is a free, open-source HTTP/HTTPS debugging proxy for capturing, examining, and changing network traffic in real time. It can block traffic, modify requests or responses, map requests locally or remotely, and apply breakpoint rules. WebSocket work includes detection for plain text, Socket.IO, and MQTT, with message injection. JavaScript and TypeScript hooks based on Deno Core can process requests, responses, and WebSocket traffic. Server Replay stores captured responses and returns them for identical requests, while HAR export uses HTTP Archive 1.2. Cheolsu-Query provides traffic filtering, and authenticated upstream proxy chaining is supported. A desktop GUI, terminal TUI, and MCP Server use the same proxy daemon, allowing multiple clients at once; the MCP Server connects with assistants including Claude Code and Cursor. The published build supports Apple Silicon Macs only. Intel macOS is not built, and Windows and Linux are listed as coming soon.
Good
- Free and distributed under MIT and Apache 2.0
- Edits requests and responses with breakpoint rules
- Inspects and injects WebSocket messages
- Replays traffic and exports HAR files
- Supports authenticated upstream proxy chaining
Watch out
- Published build supports Apple Silicon only
- Intel macOS build is not provided
- Windows and Linux are coming soon
- macOS may block its unsigned build
Who it suits
Cheolsu Proxy suits developers debugging HTTP, HTTPS, and WebSocket traffic on Apple Silicon Macs. The GUI targets most users, while the TUI suits command-line users.
Verdict
Cheolsu Proxy brings editing, replay, filtering, scripting, and WebSocket inspection into one proxy daemon. Platform support is currently limited to Apple Silicon macOS, and the first launch may require Gatekeeper handling.
