Xiaomi has officially announced the highly anticipated launch date of the Civi 3, a smartphone specifically designed for the female market in China. The unveiling is set to take place on May 25 at 2 pm local time.
Accompanying the confirmation, Xiaomi has provided a teaser poster that offers a sneak peek at the rear design of the Civi 3. Notably, the device showcases a distinct circular camera module, a departure from the previous models in the lineup. It is anticipated that Xiaomi will gradually reveal more details about the overall design of the Civi 3 via upcoming teasers.
In the Chinese market, the Xiaomi Civi 3 will be in direct competition with smartphones powered by the Dimensity 8200 chipset. Those include the likes of the Oppo Reno 10 Pro and the Vivo S17 Pro. Recent reports have shed light on various aspects of the Civi 3, providing an insight into what users can expect from this upcoming device.
According to these reports, the Civi 3 will feature a 6.55-inch curved AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and an impressive 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it is expected to incorporate an under-display fingerprint scanner for enhanced security. Powering the Civi 3 will likely be the Dimensity 8200-Ultra chipset, paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The smartphone is anticipated to offer ample memory with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of built-in storage. To support these features, the Civi 3 will house a sizable 4,500mAh battery that can be rapidly charged at 67W.
In terms of photography capabilities, the screen of the Civi 3 will house a pill-shaped cut-out, housing a 32 MP primary selfie camera and a 32 MP ultra-wide lens. On the rear, the device will feature a triple camera setup, headlined by a 50 MP Sony IMX800 primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). It is expected to run on the MIUI 14, based on the Android 13 operating system.
With its distinctive design and promising specifications, the Xiaomi Civi 3 aims to cater specifically to the preferences and needs of the female market segment in China.
