In the upcoming Xiaomi product launch event scheduled in August, including the Redmi Pad 2, Redmi K60 Ultra, and Xiaomi Pad 6 in China, the spotlight is expected to be on the highly anticipated Xiaomi MIX Fold 3. While previous reports suggested the device would feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a recent leak via TechGoing indicates that the foldable phone will actually be equipped with an overclocked version of the processor.
According to the leak, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will be powered by an impressive 3.36GHz Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, surpassing the regular version’s clock speed of 3.2GHz. This overclocked variant has previously been seen in the recently announced Red Magic 8s Pro gaming smartphone. Alongside the powerful processor, the MIX Fold 3 is expected to offer 16 GB of RAM and a capacious 1 TB of storage. The device will house a 4,800mAh battery, supporting 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Additionally, the leak suggests that the MIX Fold 3 will feature a waterdrop hinge, designed to enhance overall strength while reducing weight, ultimately contributing to improved durability. Further reports indicate that the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will sport a 6.56-inch cover screen with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. For an immersive viewing experience, the device will showcase an 8.02-inch foldable display capable of Quad HD+ resolution at 2160 x 1912 pixels. Both screens are expected to support a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
In terms of security, the inner display is rumored to incorporate an in-screen fingerprint scanner for convenient unlocking. As for its camera capabilities, the MIX Fold 3 is said to feature a rear camera setup consisting of a Sony IMX800 primary camera, a periscope zoom camera with 10x optical zoom, a telephoto camera with 3.2x optical zoom, and an ultra-wide lens. The device is anticipated to come preloaded with MIUI 14, based on Android 13.
