In a highly anticipated announcement, Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi Civi 3 in China, featuring the groundbreaking Dimensity 8200 Ultra chipset. This chipset, developed in collaboration between Xiaomi and MediaTek, offers enhanced image signal processing capabilities, building upon the already impressive Dimensity 8200 chipset.
As with previous models in the Civi series, the Xiaomi Civi 3 places a strong emphasis on delivering an exceptional camera experience. On the front, the device boasts dual 32 MP front-facing cameras housed within a pill-shaped cut out. Accompanying the same are LED flashes positioned beside the speaker grille. The primary selfie camera incorporates optical image stabilization (OIS) and autofocus, while the secondary module offers a wider 100-degree angle and supports up to 4K video recording. The AI-powered LED flashes on the front simulate various lighting effects, enabling users to capture selfies with realistic and vibrant colors.
Turning to the rear of the device, a prominent camera cutout is hard to miss which in turn houses three sensors. The setup includes a 50 MP IMX800 primary sensor with large 1.0μm pixels and OIS, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP macro module. The Xiaomi Civi 3 features a 6.55-inch AMOLED display on the front, delivering FHD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and achieves an impressive peak brightness of up to 1,500 nits. Under the hood, the device offers up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 3.1 storage, ensuring swift and ample storage capacity. Powering the device is a robust 4,500 mAh battery that supports 67W wired charging, allowing for quick and convenient recharging. On the software front, the Xiaomi Civi 3 runs MIUI 14 based on the latest Android 13 operating system.
The Xiaomi Civi 3 arrives in an array of attractive colors, including Purple, Mint, Gold, and Gray. The base model with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage is priced at CNY 2,499 ($353), while the top-tier variant featuring 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage is set at CNY 2,999 ($424). Open sales in China are scheduled to commence on May 31, offering consumers the opportunity to get their hands on this impressive smartphone.
